Privacy policy
How the SecureAware Android app handles information when you read guides, practice decisions and check security updates.
What SecureAware does
SecureAware is an educational app about scams and safer online decisions. You can read guides and try fictional practice scenarios without creating an account. The app does not accept complaints or ask you to submit identity documents, passwords, payment details or evidence.
Information kept on your device
The app saves your language and theme choices in local device storage. It also saves which news items you have seen or read and whether you enabled optional browser alerts. Those settings and item identifiers stay on your device. Your practice choices are processed in the app to show a simulated result; SecureAware does not receive them.
You can clear this locally stored information by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it. You can turn off alerts in the app or your device/browser settings.
Live updates and external services
When the app checks news and threat updates, it makes HTTPS requests to public third-party publishers and feeds. These include Indian public agencies and publishers, international security sources and scam-reporting feeds. Depending on the section you use, sources may include I4C, RBI, CERT-In, ET CISO, Google Security, FTC Consumer Alerts, CISA, RansomLook and TweetFeed. Source availability and the set of sources may change as the service evolves.
Those providers may receive technical connection information, such as your IP address and request details, and handle it under their own privacy policies. Opening a source, reporting channel or other external link takes you to that provider’s website or service. SecureAware does not control their privacy practices.
What we do not collect
The current Android app has no account system, advertising SDK or analytics SDK. It does not send your practice answers or locally saved preferences to a SecureAware account or server. We do not sell personal data.
Visiting this privacy policy webpage may create ordinary technical access logs with the hosting provider, such as an IP address and time of request, as needed to deliver and protect the page.
Security, retention and deletion
The app uses HTTPS for the public feeds it requests. Because your preferences and notification state are saved on your device, you control their retention by clearing app data or uninstalling the app. We do not maintain a SecureAware account to delete. External publishers and the webpage hosting provider determine retention for their own connection logs under their respective policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the current version took effect.
